A Man is waiting for his love at the small bridge for a long time when he saw a old man is coming this way. He asked him what is the time & then the story begins……
May I know the time please?!
Young Man: Sir, may I know the time, please?
Old Man: Certainly not.
Young Man: Sir, but why? What are you going to loose,if you tell me the time?
Old Man: Yes, I may loose something if I tell you the time.
Young Man: But Sir, can you tell me how?
Old Man : See, if I tell you the time you will definitely thank me and may be tomorrow again you will ask me the time..
Young Man: Quite possible.
Old Man: May be we meet two three times more and you will ask my name and address.
Young Man: Quite possible.
Old Man: One day you may come to my house saying you were just passing by and came into wish me.Then as a courtsey, I will offer you a cup of tea. After my courteous approach you will try to come again. This time you will appreciate tea and ask who has made it.?
Young Man: Possible
Old Man: made it Then I will tell you that my daughter has and I will then have to introduce my young and pretty daughter to you & you will admire my daughter.
Young Man: Smiles. ;)
Old Man: Now onwards you will try to meet my daughter again and again. You will offer her to go out for a movie together and a date with you.
Young Man: Smiles
Old Man: My daughter may start liking you and star waiting for you. After meeting regularly you will fall in love with her and propose her for marriage.
Young Man: Smiles
Old Man: One day both of you will come to me and tell me about your love and ask for my permission.
Young Man: Oh Yes! and smiles
Old Man: (Angrily) Young man, I will never let my Daughter marry to a person like you who does not even own a Watch..

Anyone can tell me what is the MORAL of this story?
1. never ask her father “what’s the time”….
2. if in love, always carry your own time-piece
3. never wait for your lady love… make her wait for you…

Hmm!! I don’t think you would know that whether the person has daughter/son as he is completely stranger to you. But I think – Don’t irritate people for silly question when someone is not answering ignore him. If you check the description the boy was asking many times about time & thus irritates the man.
I agree with carrying wrist watch / mobile at least as both can be used for knowing time. Is that mean this boy don’t even carry a mobile? that’s bad :(
That’s very rude Abu. How can you make your love wait for you? Instead keep a walkman / IPod with you so that you can listen music / watch movies by this time. If you own a mobile with internet facility then use the time to chat / browsing. It will help to reduce the pain of waiting..
I also think this boy already has a steady girlfriend still when the man tells him that one day he may meet her daughter – go out, he smiles. Why does he smile? Don’t cheat your love.

Wonderful story and it is fun to read the various suggested possibilities. Human emotions and motivations are infinitely interesting.
I would add two other moral possibilities:
1- Always be aware of the present. Whether it is the time or the reactions you are receiving from others, be aware and respond accordingly.
2 – Is time really so important? This story has the past, present and future all wrapped into a single moment, which is all we can experience at any one point in time. Be aware and be in the present.
Great morals for this story. You are right present is most important. We always get too indulged discussing our pasts, what were the mistakes made, blame each other but we never thought that no matter what we do past can’t be changed. Instead learn from past & make your present better.
