Just to explain my previous comment I was responding to a comment that has been removed.
The individual used this elephant model to help them plan a zoo expansion, which included determining how much space would be required for more elephants. He could scale the model to get a much more accurate idea of what would be needed. It was a great idea.

I want to download this into Blender. But, I get an error that says “UnboundLocalError: local variable “CASE_INSENSITIVE: referenced before assignment.

Well, its on the import menu, so its supposed to be. This is the first time I’ve tried to import 3ds, and it didn’t work. It might require a script I don’t have or something. I’ve posted it as a question to the blendernation forum. If I get an answer, I’ll let you know!

If you download the 3dxml file, you can open the elephant into catia. It works fine for me.
Which version of catia are you using ?
