This is a model of a non dead center steam engine, invented by Joseph Bernays around 1880. The original one have a different layout for the distribution and no reverse system. This engine is 8 cc. Stroke is 18mm – Bore 12mm – twin cylinder double effect. This engine has been built and is now set on a gunship model (10 kilos, 1m long) and it works with real live steam. This model has been done in CATIA V5

Excellent model (for those interested in mechanical goodies and history). Do you have any pictures of the engine and the gunboat? I’d love to see them together!
